Abstract :
Women in agriculture make up a considerable portion of the Indian rural population. However women agricultural labourer is being treated as unpaid labour as agriculture being highly a sex based one. Albeit they play multiple roles at the work spot, they are seldom recognized and rewarded. The government and voluntary agencies to improve the conditions of the women workers in the work spot should reorient the development strategies and services. State Governments must establish labour Bureaus at the village level to monitor the problems faced by the women workers in the work spot.
